Pipelines & stages

A pipeline is the path a deal travels, split into stages. Your workspace can have as many pipelines as you need (subject to your plan), for example one for sales and one for partnerships.

Each stage has a name, an optional color, and a type:

  • Standard: a normal step in the process, like “Qualified” or “Negotiation”.
  • Won: the closing stage for deals you win.
  • Lost: the closing stage for deals you lose.

Moving a deal into a won or lost stage closes it and stamps the close date. New standard stages always slot in before the closing stages, so “Closed won” and “Closed lost” stay at the end of the board.

Stage names are unique within a pipeline, and you can reorder stages at any time.

Renaming a pipeline or stage doesn’t touch the deals in it. Reordering stages keeps every deal where it was, just in a different column order.

  • Deleting a stage deletes the deals in it, so move deals out first if you want to keep them.
  • Deleting a pipeline is a soft delete of the pipeline itself.

A new workspace can include a sample pipeline with demo deals so you can try the board before adding real data. Sample data doesn’t count toward your plan limits, and you can remove it any time.
