Docs

Docs are the writing surface in Cavyro. A doc is a notebook in the sidebar, and a page is what you write in it. Pages nest, so a doc can hold a whole playbook with sections under sections.

Docs are on every plan. There is no page limit and no add-on to buy.

  1. Open Docs in the sidebar.
  2. Click Create doc and give it a title.
  3. Click Create page inside it, then start writing.

Every page has a ··· menu for structure: New sub-page to nest one under it, Move up and Move down to reorder it among its siblings, Move to top level to pull it out, and Archive when it’s done. Archiving a page takes its sub-pages with it.

The editor works like the rest of Cavyro’s rich text, with two shortcuts worth learning:

  • Type / for blocks: headings, lists, quotes, dividers, images and file attachments.
  • Type @ to mention a person, team, group, deal, contact, company, project or task.

Everything autosaves. The header shows “Saving…” while it works and “Saved” when it’s done, so there is no save button to hunt for.

Files you attach inside a page count toward your workspace’s storage limit, like attachments anywhere else.

Mentioning a record does two things. The chip in your text becomes a link, so clicking it opens that deal, contact, company, project or task. And the page shows up on that record’s Docs tab, without anyone filing it there.

That is how the discovery script you wrote in March is still sitting on the deal in September.

Mentioning a person, team or group notifies them, the same as a mention in a comment.

Mentioning a deal, contact, company, project or task can also fire an automation, so the deal’s assignees hear about the page that names it. Restricted docs are exempt: their mentions never leave the doc.

Two people can edit the same page at once. You see their avatar in the header and their cursor in the text, and nobody’s edits overwrite anybody’s.

Comments come in two shapes:

  • Inline comments: select some text and comment on that exact sentence. The text stays highlighted, and clicking it opens the thread.
  • Page comments: the thread at the bottom of the page, for anything about the page as a whole.

Open Page options (the ··· button) and choose Page history. Cavyro snapshots a page as it’s edited, and you can add your own named version at any point with Save version, for example “Before legal review”.

Pick any version to preview it, then restore it to put that text back on the page.

Sharing is per doc. Pages inherit it, so you set access once. Open a doc and click Share.

  • Everyone in the workspace (the default): every member can read and edit the doc.
  • Only people with access: the doc disappears for everyone else, including from search. You then add people, teams or groups by hand.

Workspace admins and the person who created the doc always keep full access.

Level What they can do
Can view Read the pages
Can comment Read and comment, but not edit
Can edit Write and create pages
Full access Everything, plus sharing and deleting

Under Public link, create a read-only link for someone outside the workspace. No sign-in, nothing to install, and they see only that doc. Choose no expiry, 7 days or 30 days, and revoke the link whenever you want.

Mark any doc as a template from its ··· menu and it moves to the Templates section at the bottom of the sidebar. Then use New doc from a template: pick one and you get a copy with all its pages. Meeting notes, onboarding checklists and QBR agendas are worth writing once.

The same menu has Duplicate, for copying a doc without making it a template.

An automation can create docs from your templates too, for example an onboarding doc the moment a deal is won.

From Page options:

  • Export as Markdown downloads the page as a .md file.
  • Print / PDF opens your browser’s print dialog with the page formatted for paper.
  • Pages appear in workspace search next to deals, contacts and companies, and restricted docs stay hidden from people without access.
  • Docs and pages are available over MCP, so an AI agent can list, read and write them like any other record.
